What is Psoriasis ?
It is a chronic auto immune condition in which the skin cells build up and form excessive skin which peel off easily in large amount due to itchiness , leaving dry red patchy areas, in such conditions skin is never healthy and is undergoing scaling and scabbing . It is also characterized by immune system dysfunction , in which immune system mistakenly attacks healthy skin cells , triggering inflammation .
What Causes Psoriasis ?
It is related with an auto-immune disorder of the body where antibodies are produced against it’s own cells , it can be caused by genetic factors(psoriasis has a strong genetic component, and having a family history increases the risk) , Abnormal immune response , various environmental triggers such as stress , smoking , excessive alcohol consumption , cold weather , dry skin , infections such as strep throat.

Sign and symptoms include red scaling excessively , highly itchy patches typically seen over the knees , elbow , scalp, nails , face , genital area , lower back , leaving a raw area behind , a burning sensation , redness , swelling , pitting (small depressions or pits in the nails) , yellowing , small bumps , joint pains .
